Understanding Diffly's "Ask Diffly" page

Written by Julien Cohen-Roussey

Ask Diffly is the conversational AI assistant built into Diffly. It lets you query all of your account data simply by asking questions, the way you would in a conversation, no more navigating between pages, filtering, and synthesizing everything yourself.

Ask a question, and Ask Diffly analyzes your collected feedback and answers in seconds, citing its sources.

Who can use it?

Ask Diffly is available to every user on your Diffly account, with no setup required. The page opens as soon as you log in.

What Ask Diffly can do?

  • Answer any question about your feedback, deals, and decision drivers, in natural language.

  • Draw on all of your account data: interviews and surveys (verbatims, analyses), deals (name, deal owner, dates, won/lost status, use case : New Business / Existing Business / Satisfaction), decision drivers, tags, campaigns, users, and account settings.

  • Cite its sources: every piece of information links back to the original feedback or quote.

  • Target a specific data point using the @ mention.

  • Get inspiration from pre-written prompts through the Questions library.

  • Find and reopen any past conversation.

ℹ️ Good to know

  • Ask Diffly is conversational: you can follow up, ask for more detail, or rephrase within the same thread.

  • Answers cannot be filtered: to narrow the scope of an answer, use the @ mention.

  • Just like any AI tool, Ask Diffly can make mistakes. A reminder is shown at the bottom of the interface: "Ask Diffly can make mistakes. Check important information."

How it works

1. Open Ask Diffly

Ask Diffly is the first item in the navigation sidebar, at the very top left, marked with the ✦ icon. Click it to open the chat interface.

2. Start a chat

From the chat home page, you have two options:

  • Type your question directly in the input field at the bottom of the screen.

  • Click one of the 6 suggested prompts shown on the home page.

Ask Diffly answers based on your account data and cites its sources within the response.

To start fresh, click New chat at the top of the left-hand panel.

3. Read an answer and its sources

Every Ask Diffly answer is grounded in your real data. Sources are shown as numbers placed next to each point: click a number to open the corresponding feedback or quote.

4. Target a specific data point with @

In the input field, type @ to point to a specific element and focus the answer on it, rather than on the whole account. You can mention:

  • a Deal,

  • a Feedback (interview or survey),

  • a Decision driver,

  • a Campaign,

  • a User.

5. Use the Questions library

Not sure what to ask? Click Questions library on the home page. The library opens in a window with two tabs:

  • Use case — prompts grouped by topic: Win-loss analysis, Customer satisfaction, Churn analysis & Retention, Buyer insight, Messaging & positioning, Customer testimonials, Pricing, Sales coaching, Product roadmap…

  • Persona — prompts grouped by profile.

Select a category on the left to display the related prompts on the right, then click a prompt to launch it directly in the chat.

6. Find a conversation

All of your conversations are listed in the left-hand panel, grouped by period (Yesterday, Previous 7 days, Previous 30 days…).

To find a specific exchange, use Search chats and look it up by keyword.
